Currently have 3 oracle control files. Would like to move one of them from it's current location to another location. Can this be done without shutting down the database?

You can not move the control files without down the database coz you have to set parameter in initSID.ora file
Although you r using spfile in oracle 9i still its not supported
coz control_files is statis parameter
I think its enough
