When I connect from one server (local database) to another server(remote database) thru RAS, I can access the remote database by using db link as well as connect string.

But when I connect from one client (PC) of the local database to another server (remote database) thru RAS, I can access the remote database by using connect string, but I cannot access the remote database thru dblink. It gives error ORA-12203.

Could somebody help me with the dblink ?????

Hi,
I think u r hitting 114786.1 in the metalink
refer to it.

Check TNSNAMES.ORA whether remote database entry is in this file or not ?
