Hello,
I have an Oracle database installed in a Unix system and I have another one installed in a Windows2000 system. I have used the Exp tool provided by the database to export a table in a binary format file. the Export done in a US7ASCII char set. then I have used the Imp tool to import the table into the windows based databse. I have 2 fields on the database one for the Name and the other for the address. These 2 fields are in Arabic but when I was viewing these 2 fields All I see is English characters not related to each other. So is it a problem in the char set or what?
Can I specify the char set with exp tool or the imp tool?
how can I know the char set used by the database in the Unix envirnment using the sql plus?
please I need help ASAP.
