Hi all ,

I am Abhijit Kurlekar, i would like to share a problem with the forum.
I have a win 2k machine which has the database server.
It is oracle 8.1.7 and the SGA size is 1.8 GB. The RAM size on the win2k machine is 3.4 GB.

If i try to start explicit SQL* Plus sessions i get an error when i have started around 110 sessions. At that point of time a select count(*) from v$process yields a value of 92. But after this if i tryt o start another session through SQL* plus it gives me this error ...
TNS-12500: TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process
TNS-12540: TNS:internal limit restriction exceeded
TNS-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error
TNS-00510: Internal limit restriction exceeded

The init.ora parameters are ...
processes = 300
license_max_sessions=300
sessions = 335

I was under the impression that if my license_max_sessions parameter is set to 300 then i can have at least those many explicit sessions through SQL* Plus or any client.

But now this problem has come up ...
I have a doubt that the RAM size may be needs to be increased.

Can anyone pls expertise on this issue ?? It will be of immense help for me and my team here.
